After many years of research and tracing the origin of female masonry in great detail, it was found that the Heroines of Jericho degrees were first brought to perfect order in France 1220 A.D. and continued north to the domains of England, Germany, Scotland and many other established governments. In fact, these degrees of the Heroines of Jericho were known and given when we had nothing but good Ancient Craft Masonry, which is almost as old as Creation. History plainly tells us that the Heroines of Jericho degrees are the OLDEST FEMALE DEGREES in Masonry. With the introduction of Masonry into the Provinces of America, came the Heroines of Jericho.
The object of this Organization is to promote sincere Friendship, practice Charity and Relief, and assist in relieving suffering and to promote opportunities for us to improve Morally, Socially, Spiritually and Intellectually.
As it pertains to the Washington State Jurisdiction, Sarah W. Dupee Court #1 was organized in 1926 laboring under the Missouri Jurisdiction. In July of 1969 a request was made to Prince Hall Grand Lodge for permission to organize a Grand High Court in the State of Washington. That request was granted and on August 2, 1969 the Grand High Court of Washington was legally constituted, consecrated, and dedicated. And in 1987 District 9 opened Hadeshah Court # 8 followed by Esther Bright Court #9, and Leola Green Court #12.
